The Spirit of Gold Coast Cruises Difference
We have been on whale watching cruises in Hawaii before, which we thought was wonderful, but this trip from Gold Coast exceeded our expectations. The captain found a group of 5 whales, including a mama and baby. One of the males was breaching over and over for a full 30 minutes and then when he got tired the baby started breaching. He was completely out of the water. The slapping sound when the whale came out of the water and then landed was so loud I thought t must have hurt him on the landing.
– ChrisReyes, TripadvisorFrom the moment with booked with Angie( lovely lady and very helpful) to the anniversary present on arrival the entire day went as smoothly as you could imagine. The crew band staff were very friendly and the on board marine biologist was a wealth of knowledge about hump back whales. Heading out through the Southport seaway was an experience. Warning note here: When the captain says “those at the front of the boat who don’t want to get wet please come inside” then maybe listen up as a wave smashed the front of the boat and your truly was saturated, but its all part of the experience. Thanks again guys it was a great day.
– Bourkey, TripadvisorWe did the whale watching cruise after purchasing a Groupon voucher. We arrived at just before 9am and was on the boat heading out at 9.30. There is coffee/ tea and biscuits before you head onto the water. Seating available on two levels inside and out, upper deck does have cover from the sun which was great. Staff were really friendly and kept checking in with everyone they were ok through the activity. They were also so generous out on the water, patiently tracking whales and being respectful of their environment. A great trip, would certainly recommend.
– travellerm68, TripadvisorLovely Sunset Cruise, the staff was very interactive and helpful - The Cruise was interesting and very relaxing.
– Monika N, TripadvisorWe had a great time on the Spirit. From the time we were checked off before we boarded to the finish. The team were great. Morning tea was available. The team informed us all the time on the cruise about dolphins we saw on the way to when we spotted whales. The team are quiet experienced.
